27 Collagen Drinks, Including Mocktails, Smoothies & Hot Beverages

Collagen drinks

Collagen drinks are usually DIY beverages made with hydrolyzed collagen peptides (in powder form) created for maximum absorption and which may support skin elasticity, healthy hair growth, joint comfort and more. There are also commercial collagen drinks, collagen liquid shots, sparkling collagen waters and even collagen creamers.

While you can simply mix an unflavored collagen powder with water, many collagen drinks use a flavored collagen powder for improved drinkability. Collagen peptides powder can also be added to smoothies, protein shakes, coffees and more.

When you ingest these drinks, your digestive system breaks down the collagen protein into small, highly bioavailable amino acids. Your bloodstream then distributes these building blocks to areas like the skin, hair follicles and cartilage, prompting the body to rebuild its own collagen matrix.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and plays a key role in supporting the structure of skin, hair, nails, joints, bones, muscles and connective tissues. Because natural collagen production declines with age, many people incorporate collagen drinks into their daily routine as a convenient way to supplement their diet.

Here are 27 collagen drinks, divided into:

  • Flavored collagen drinks

  • Collagen protein smoothies

  • Specialty collagen drinks

  • Hot drinks with collagen

In addition, Ancient Nutrition offers many delicious flavors of Multi Collagen Protein that you can simply mix with 8 to 12 ounces of water:

Collagen is hydrolyzed (broken down into smaller collagen peptides), so it’s highly water-soluble. That being said, it dissolves much faster in hot or room-temperature liquid, and it may clump in ice-cold water if not mixed correctly.

Therefore, to get a smooth, clump-free drink, follow these best practices:

  • Add the collagen powder to a small amount of lukewarm water first. Stir briskly (or use a frother) until fully dissolved, then top off your glass with ice and cold water or your favorite beverage.

  • Add water and the collagen powder into a shaker bottle and vigorously shake for a well mixed collagen drink.

You can also enjoy collagen powder with sparking later, but you need to use a specific method to avoid excessive fizzing:

  • In a glass, add collagen powder to a few ounces of room-temperature still water. Stir or froth until it's completely dissolved.

  • Slowly pour chilled sparkling water (potentially in a flavor that compliments your collagen powder) into the glass while gently stirring.

What are the best times to eat? And how often should you eat? It’s a very simple question that I hear many people ask (especially those who want to lose some weight but it also comes from people who want to put on muscle), but a more complex answer is required.

Summer travel is awesome. Being together with loved ones. Traveling to cool places. Frolicking in the sun and surf, or hiking a sublime nature path.

Our body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age. We can thank this process and lower levels of collagen for contributing to “normal signs of aging.” Other lifestyle factors — like eating a diet high in sugar, smoking and high amounts of sun exposure — can also lead to diminishing collagen levels.
