Question 1

What is collagen?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in the body — especially type I — and is found throughout the body. As we age, natural collagen production declines, which can contribute to wrinkles, joint stiffness and reduced mobility. Collagen contains a whopping 19 different amino acids. Amino acids are the “building blocks of proteins,” and collagen includes a mix of both nonessential (also called conditional) and essential types.

Question 2

Does Multi Collagen Protein Lemon Iced Tea contain caffeine?

Accepted Answer

A very small amount. The organic green tea is included for its flavor profile; therefore, the amount is minimal. (Note: If the caffeine content is significant in any of our formulas, it will be disclosed on the label). Comment end

Question 3

When should I use this product?

Accepted Answer

You can use this collagen powder in the morning, afternoon, evening or right before bed. There is no specific time to take collagen, but you’ll maximize benefits by taking it consistently. Find a time that works best for you to take it regularly.

Question 4

What probiotic strain is featured?

Accepted Answer

Bacillus coagulans, which is a tough, effective strain of SBO or soil-based organism probiotics. We chose to use SBO probiotics because they're resistant to extremes in temperature as well as the harsh digestive tract, which helps them survive and thrive in your gut.

Question 5

What is the amino acid profile for this product?

Accepted Answer

You can view the typical amino acid profile for this product in the images section at the top of the page or by clicking here

Question 6

Why does your packaging now say 10 types of collagen instead of 5 types of collagen?

Accepted Answer

Multi Collagen Protein is made with groundbreaking ingredients, including our clinically-studied fermented eggshell membrane collagen. That’s a newer ingredient in Multi Collagen Protein, backed by human clinical studies, and it’s shown to deliver fast results that truly last. Because it’s a newer ingredient in our formula, there are studies and research released about it frequently. Recently, an analysis found even more collagen types in the eggshell membrane than we originally believed. In addition to the types I, II, III, V and X, Multi Collagen Protein also has types IV, VII, VIII, XII, XXII. Together, those collagen types build and support your joints, tendons, ligaments, skin, bones, muscles, hair, nails, and gut.† They play a vital role in providing structural support to your whole body. We have a team of experts who ensure that the research backs up our products and their benefits. So we’ll only communicate something if there is clear, definitive science showing it to be true. That’s why we’ve recently updated our Multi Collagen Protein to communicate ten types of collagen.

Question 7

What does this collagen formula do?

Accepted Answer

This collagen formula is designed to support your hair, skin, nails, gut and joints. It helps promote improved hair texture, improves the elasticity of the skin around the eyes (think crow’s feet) and overall skin texture, and delivers fast, noticeable joint support, meaning users experience reduced joint stiffness beginning in as little as 7 days, plus improved flexibility, mobility and faster recovery from everyday activity and exercise with continued use. It also helps promote healthy cartilage over time, supporting more comfortable, resilient joints you can count on.

Question 8

Can you explain what “collagen loading” is?

Accepted Answer

Our bodies are approximately 30% collagen, and most of us don’t consume enough collagen in our everyday diets. “Collagen loading” is when you consume up to three servings of collagen per day, most often from collagen powder or capsule supplements. Collagen loading can help support our body’s production of collagen, which naturally declines as we age. It can help support healthy joints, skin, hair, nails and more. Of course, you should always consult your healthcare professional prior to beginning any new dietary or lifestyle regimen, including collagen loading.

Question 9

How is this different from Bone Broth Protein?

Accepted Answer

Bone Broth Protein features collagen from 1 or 2 sources, depending on the formula. That includes a combination of collagen from chicken bone broth protein concentrate and beef bone broth protein concentrate or solely from beef bone broth protein concentrate. (Note: Chicken collagen provides collagen type 2, while beef collagen provides collagen types 1 and 3.) Multi Collagen Protein includes 10 types of collagen from 4 sources. Bone Broth Protein powder contains more protein per serving (15-20g vs 9g) and usually contains more chicken bone broth protein concentrate, which means you will typically and inherently get more collagen type II, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and chondroitin with Bone Broth Protein. But Multi Collagen Protein also contains the added benefits of clinically studied: Bacillus coagulans (2 billion CFU*) Vitamin C (from Lipid Metabolite Ascorbate) Fermented eggshell membrane collagen.

Question 10

What is hydrolyzed collagen?

Accepted Answer

“Hydrolyzed collagen” refers to collagen that has been broken down into smaller protein fragments, making it easier for your body to digest and absorb it. Hydrolysis also helps turn native collagen into a more convenient, mixable powder that dissolves easily in hot or cold liquids. For Multi Collagen Protein, that means giving you head-to-toe wellness support in a routine-friendly way.

Question 11

Why should I be supplementing with collagen?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Up to 30% of all the protein in your body is collagen protein. Up to 70% of skin, hair, nails and nearly 100% of connective tissues are made from collagen. It literally holds you together, from the hairs on your head, to every inch of your skin, to your joint comfort and mobility. Collagen production naturally declines as we age, and it’s not being consumed in the standard modern diet. Supplementing can help support your body’s normal collagen production, so you can reap all the rewards of collagen.

Question 12

My container isn’t filled to the top. Is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please keep in mind that packages are filled by weight and not volume. Your product will settle over time and may appear half (or even less than half) full when opened.

Question 13

Are there other factors that contribute to collagen loss?

Accepted Answer

The natural aging process is not the only thing that can slow down production and diminish collagen in your body. If you’re worried about the breakdown of your own collagen, here are 7 lifestyle factors that are considered “collagen diminishers.” Poor sleep Excess sugar consumption Sun overexposure Diet low in antioxidants Sitting all day and lack of activity Nutrient shortfalls of vitamin C and zinc Free radicals You can fight back against collagen loss through a few combined approaches: Limit your exposure to damaging UV rays and other environmental toxins Consume collagen-boosting foods Support and promote the skin’s health by supplementing with collagen

Question 14

How can I tell if it works?

Accepted Answer

Some common ways to tell if the collagen is working is by noticing healthy skin, healthy nails, and joint comfort support.†

Question 15

How long before I can start looking for benefits?

Accepted Answer

Everyone is different, and will have a different experience when using the product. What matters most is consistency. With consistent use, here are some of the changes you may notice: Reduced knee stiffness, discomfort and improved function at 30 days† Improved appearance of crow’s feet after 4 weeks and skin tone after 8 weeks†

Question 16

Is Multi Collagen Protein vegan/vegetarian?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is found only in animals, mostly in the flesh and connective tissue. There are no vegan collagen supplements (although there are vegan foods and products that can support your body’s production of collagen). As a result, Multi Collagen Protein comes from animal sources, so it is not vegan or vegetarian.

Question 17

What are the benefits of taking collagen?

Accepted Answer

Collagen health benefits include support for your hair, skin, nails and joints. Taking a hydrolyzed collagen peptide protein powder helps make the collagen easier for the body to use, so you can better experience the benefits of collagen.

Are your products produced in a facility with allergens?

Accepted Answer

We now have a disclaimer that is on ALL of our products: "Produced on equipment that may also process peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soybean, wheat, sesame, shellfish, fish, egg." This is a voluntary disclaimer and our formulations have not changed. Our manufacturers are required to have Policies and Procedures in place when it comes to handling and processing allergens.
