Mojito mocktail

We’re in the heat, literally, of mocktail season. There are more creative mocktails than ever, but sometimes a classic is the right call. This mojito mocktail brings together the sublime flavors of this famous drink and with extra hydration to boot, courtesy of Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate.

Of course, the great thing about a summer mocktail is you can enjoy a fun, refreshing drink but without any of the side effects of alcohol consumption — and with some extra nutrients that the typical cocktail doesn’t contain.

Key ingredients of a mojito mocktail

A traditional Cuban punch, the cocktail typically contains five ingredients: sugar, lime juice, soda water, mint and white rum. Between the sugar and the rum, that’s pretty sweet.

Instead, this mojito mocktail recipe uses a honey simple syrup for the sweetness. Honey is lower on the glycemic index, plus it contains more nutrients.

Otherwise, vitamin C-packed lime juice is used along with fresh mint to impart that perfect mojito flavor.

Lastly, Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate lemon-lime powder is added for collagen, extra hydration as well as flavor. Featuring a hydration superfood blend that includes Spanish red cave salt and red marine algae, this supplement contains two times more electrolytes† vs. leading sports drinks and helps you achieve rapid hydration for your skin and body.

Meanwhile, the collagen helps reduce joint discomfort and stiffness, helps improve flexibility, and improves exercise recovery by over 50 percent.

This supplement helps make it a fabulous summer drink.

2x or 3x more electrolytes per serving, based on overall sodium and potassium levels. Plus, this formula includes magnesium and calcium.

How to make a mojito mocktail

First, make up the honey simple syrup. Heat a medium saucepan over low heat and add in honey and distilled water.

Stir frequently for a couple of minutes until the honey is fully incorporated. Let cool to room temperature and then pour into an airtight glass container. You can later store this in the fridge for future mojitos.

In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, lightly muddle the mint until aromatic. You can use a wooden muddler or simply the handle of a wooden cooking spoon.

Juice two limes and add the lime juice along with one tablespoon honey simple syrup and ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for around 20 seconds until the drink is chilled through.

In a medium bowl, strain the cocktail. Add in one scoop of the lemon lime collagen powder. Use a milk frother or a high-speed hand mixer and mix until the collagen powder has dissolved and no clumps remain.

Add ice to a mocktail glass. Add a few slices of lime and some sprigs of fresh mint. Pour the mocktail mix into the glass and top with sparkling water. Optionally top with additional mint and lime.
