DIY Wellness Shots that Support the Gut, Detoxification & More

Have you seen the wellness shots trend? These are typically small bottles that feature certain nutrients and are designed to boost one's health, such as promoting a healthy immune system or working as a detoxifying drink. They can also be fairly pricey for such a small drink.

Instead, make your own! These DIY wellness shots are loaded with select extracts, herbs and spices to give you a boost, such as for your gut and more. Recipes for healthy detoxification-supporting shots were also created.

These five wellness shots all feature a new kind of apple cider vinegar: Herbal Cider Vinegar. It joins the power of apple cider vinegar with the benefits of nutrient-filled herbs, berries and roots.

Serves: 1

Total time: 10 minutes Ingredients:

  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, juiced

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • ¼ cup coconut water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbal Cider Vinegar

  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Juice ginger and lemon. In a small container or bowl, add in coconut water, Herbal Cider Vinegar, turmeric and cayenne to juiced ginger and lemon.

  2. Mix until combined.

2. Grateful Gut Shot

Gut wellness shot

Serves: 1

Total time: 10 minutes Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple, juiced

  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, juiced

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • ¼ cup coconut water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbal Cider Vinegar

  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Juice pineapple, ginger and lemon. In a small container or bowl, add in coconut water, Herbal Cider Vinegar, turmeric and cayenne to juiced vegetables.

  2. Mix until combined.

3. The Beet Booster Shot

Energy shots

Serves: 1

Total time: 10 minutes Ingredients:

  • 1 carrot, cut into small coins, juiced

  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, juiced

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 teaspoon beetroot powder

  • 1 carrot, cut into small coins

  • ¼ cup coconut water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbal Cider Vinegar

Directions:

  1. Juice carrot, ginger and lemon. In a small container or bowl, add in coconut water and Herbal Cider Vinegar to juiced vegetables.

  2. Mix until combined.

4. Whole Body Shot

Metabolism wellness shot

Serves: 1

Total time: 10 minutes Ingredients:

  • 2 stalks celery (about ½ cup) cut into chunks and juiced

  • ½ green apple, sliced and juiced

  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, juiced

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • ¼ cup coconut water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbal Cider Vinegar

Directions:

  1. Juice celery, green apple, ginger and lemon. In a small container or bowl, add coconut water and Herbal Cider Vinegar to juiced fruits and vegetables.

  2. Mix until combined.

5. The Sweet Greens Shot

Brain shot

Serves: 1

Total time: 10 minutes Ingredients:

  • 1 cup kale, juiced

  • ½ cup spinach, juiced

  • ½ medium red apple, cored, sliced and juiced

  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, juiced

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • ¼ cup coconut water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbal Cider Vinegar

Directions:

  1. Juice kale, spinach, apple, ginger and lemon. In a small container or bowl, add coconut water and Herbal Cider Vinegar to juiced fruits and vegetables.

  2. Mix until combined.

Notes: When stored in the refrigerator in a closed container, wellness shots can last for up to 4–5 days.
