Pecan pie smoothie

Thanksgiving is over yet you still have a hankering for some of those flavors, just as long as it’s not loaded with calories. Welcome to this pecan pie smoothie, the “lean” version.

Featuring pecans and cinnamon-flavored Multi Collagen Advanced Lean powder, this delicious smoothie is a great way to start a day in December … or any month for that matter. You can even serve it as a holiday drink.

Pecan pie smoothie ingredients

Pecan pie smoothie ingredients
  • Pecans: The star of this show, pecans are high in healthy fats, protein and fiber. They’re also brimming with key nutrients like manganese, copper and thiamine. Take a peek at the nutrition facts below and you’ll see what I mean.

  • Banana: A protein shake isn’t worth its salt unless the texture is both thick and creamy. The frozen banana delivers that every time. So much better than a watery protein shake. It’s also an ideal food for athletes and those who exercise regularly thanks to the concentration of quick-acting carbohydrates.

  • Greek yogurt: The highest protein yogurt by far, its natural creamy texture works well in protein shakes and helps balance the pecan pie taste. Substitute a dairy-free yogurt if you want to avoid dairy.

  • Maple syrup: The natural sweetener is ideal for pecan pie and a little goes a long way. Want to go low-sugar? Choose some powdered stevia. Again, a little goes a long way.

  • Vanilla extract: For that pie-like taste.

  • Ground cinnamon: Go with Ceylon for the best variety and enjoy the antioxidants.

  • Multi Collagen Advanced Lean powder: A collagen powder from 10 food-based sources, Multi Collagen Advanced Lean Powder (cinnamon flavor) is a healthy weight management* supplement designed to help you burn calories and boost your metabolism. It features a proprietary fat loss blend that includes organic ashwagandha root extract and organic ceylon cinnamon. Select ingredients are backed by multiple clinical studies.

  • Unsweetened almond milk: You can choose any milk but this one assists the pecan pie flavor better than most.

*In addition to a healthy diet and lifestyle, including regular exercise.

How to make a pecan pie smoothie

Make sure you have a frozen sliced banana ready to go. If not, you can add a little ice but the result won’t be as cream.

Next, soak the pecans for around 30 minutes. The water should be warm. Rinse and drain. This will make them more blendable but not soggy.

In a high-power blender, add the pecans, banana, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, the Lean powder, and almond milk. Blend on high for 2 to 3 minutes, until the mixture is smooth.

Smoothie will last for 1-2 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
