Collagen Matcha Smoothie

Collagen matcha smoothie

Matcha, a high-grade green tea ground into powdered form, is incredibly popular today. It's partly because it imparts a pleasant flavor and lovely pale green color, but also because matcha provides some natural caffeine without being nearly as high in caffeine as coffee.

It's why matcha makes sense as a gentle wake-up beverage or an afternoon pick-me-up … and also why a matcha smoothie is a perfect way to deliver that matcha goodness. It also made our list of easy breakfast ideas.

When we created our new matcha collagen supplement, we immediately knew that a smoothie form of it would be its most popular expression. Here's a matcha smoothie with collagen and multiple other healthy ingredients, and we think it'll become one of your new smoothie favorites.

Please note the macros on this baby: 32 grams of good carbs, 23 grams of performance fats and 16 grams of protein. This is a real smoothie breakfast with balanced nutrition and that will keep you going for hours. Many smoothies lack fat, for example, and thus don't sustain prolonged energy.

To make it even better, you'll be happy to know that this recipe also provides more than 50 percent of your Daily Value of vitamins A, B2, E and K, as well as the mineral manganese.

Use this collagen matcha smoothie as a morning wake-up, a pre-workout drink or when you want a little boost in the afternoon.

Special Ingredient: Collagen Matcha Energizer

Green tea is one of the best sources of antioxidants, as well as a well-researched herbal infusion for helping to promote overall healthy aging. And matcha green tea typically provides more antioxidants than regular green tea!

Ancient Nutrition just introduced our newest collagen product that combines the power of Multi Collagen Protein with those of matcha green tea: Collagen Matcha Energizer.

This winning combination provides you with a convenient combo of both protein and phytonutrients, helping to support  enhanced focus and mental stamina, healthy cortisol and DHEA balance, healthy energy levels, reduction in fatigue and more.

In particular, Collagen Matcha Energizer is made with 10 types of collagen protein (helping your skin, joints and gut), matcha green tea, plus other supportive ingredients including MCT oil and clinically studied organic ashwagandha.

This matcha formula contains 33 milligrams of caffeine per serving, which is a little more than one-third the amount found in one cup of coffee (which has roughly 95 milligrams per 8 ounce serving).

Additionally, the ashwagandha helps to support a healthy response to stress and tension and to help to “recharge your batteries,” meaning it can help promote sustainable energy.

How to Make a Collagen Matcha Smoothie

To make this recipe turn out with the best texture, freeze a whole banana the night before. To do so, peel the banana and slice it into coins. Place the coins in a sealed bag or airtight container in the freezer.

If the banana isn't frozen solid when using, add about ½ cup of ice into the smoothie.

To make the next morn, place the banana, spinach, Collagen Matcha Energizer, yogurt (Greek or a non-dairy yogurt like coconut), unsweetened almond milk, lemon juice, almond butter, maple syrup and vanilla extract into a high-speed blender. Blend the mixture on high until combined.

Serve immediately. You can also store your smoothie in an air-tight container in the fridge for 1–2 days.
