By now you’ve probably heard about the power of matcha green tea and all the ways it can support a healthier lifestyle. Combined with your collagen and a few other ingredients, matcha green tea makes a great (and great tasting!) way to give your daily health and wellness routine a boost.

What is Matcha Green Tea?

Matcha isn’t just any old green tea. It’s a high-grade, finely ground concentrated green tea that’s been used traditionally in Japanese tea ceremonies for hundreds of years.

Today, it’s popular with everyone from nutritionists and researchers to health-conscious celebrities — and for good reason.

Thanks to its polyphenol compounds called catechins, a type of antioxidant found in other superfoods, matcha green tea offers a variety of powerful benefits, including its ability to help support increased energy, weight management (in conjunction with an overall healthy diet and lifestyle), immune system health and overall well-being, too!

Key Ingredients

Along with matcha green tea, this green tea matcha latte includes a variety of other ingredients that offer top health benefits of their own.

Collagen protein: Collagen is found in your muscles, skin, bones, blood vessels and digestive system. It supports healthy joints, promotes the health of your skin, hair, nails and teeth, among other benefits.

Your body’s collagen production naturally slows down with age, so adding collagen protein to your smoothies or recipes like this green tea latte can help keep your body running properly.

Coconut oil: Coconut oil benefits come from its medium-chain fatty acids that serve as a source of energy, are typically easier to digest and aren’t stored as fat as quickly or as easily as other types of fats.

Overall and generally speaking, consuming coconut oil can help to support a healthy heart and liver, support a healthy response to inflammation and help boost your immune system.

Coconut butter: Coconut butter is ground-up coconut meat that has a buttery consistency. Coconut butter is about 60 percent oil, while coconut oil is 100 percent, so they are a little different.

Unlike coconut oil, coconut butter contains fiber, which is important for supporting healthy blood sugar levels (already in the healthy range) and regulating digestion.

Coconut milk: Coconut milk is free from dairy, lactose, nuts, grains and soy, so it’s the perfect choice for plant-based eaters. Plus, coconut milk nutrition includes manganese, magnesium, iron and potassium.

Just like coconut oil, coconut milk can generally be beneficial for supporting a healthy heart, to help build muscle, to boost energy levels and to support a healthy weight (in addition to an overall healthy diet and lifestyle).
