Watermelon juice

Versatile recipes are the best, and watermelon juice certainly qualifies. This delicious hydrating drink can cool you down on a hot day or after a tough workout, and with some sparkling water, it can also double as a lovely mocktail to sip while you are out.

This is one of the easiest recipes to make, and you take it to the next level with the addition of Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate Lemon Lime powder, for the flavors marry perfectly and also provides you additional hydration.

Learn how to make the classic watermelon juice below along with multiple variations worth considering.

Best ingredients

The principal ingredient, of course, is watermelon. The benefits of watermelon are many, and No. 1 is its hydrating aspect.

Watermelon is primarily water (roughly 92 percent), and thus consumption can aid hydration levels, including after exercise. In addition, watermelon contains the electrolyte minerals potassium and magnesium, further assisting hydration. Potassium supports heart function and muscle contractions, while magnesium is involved in energy production and muscle relaxation.

Watermelon also supports heart health. Its antioxidant lycopene supports healthy blood pressure levels and improves blood flow. Lycopene also fights oxidative stress and supports healthy inflammation levels.

Your skin health also benefits from watermelon, for its high in vitamins A and C. Both promote healthy skin by improving skin elasticity, promoting collagen production and helping skin cells to recover.

Next up is Ancient Nutrition’s Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate Lemon Lime powder. It features a hydration superfood blend as well as 10 types of collagen (for joint health and more). It can help you achieve rapid hydration for your skin and body. Once scoop contains twice the electrolytes vs. leading sports drinks, plus the collagen assists with reducing joint discomfort and stiffness.

If you add fresh lime juice, then you’re getting even more vitamin C.

How to make watermelon juice

First, it’s important to have a ripe but not overripe watermelon. Find a good one by selecting one that’s heavy for its size, plus ideally round, dark, dull (not shiny) and with a yellow spot where it sat in the field.

Cut up the watermelon by first cutting it in half lengthwise. Then cube out around three cups for two people.

Add the three cups of watermelon to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth then strain by using a nut milk bag or a few layers of cheesecloth over a large bowl. Pour the juice slowly and try to get as much liquid through the cloth as possible.

You can also skip that step and have a pulpy juice. Up to you.

Pour into two glasses. Add half a scoop of Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate to each and stir, or even better, froth. Then add ice cubes and stir in optional sparking water and add a leaf or two of mint.
