What do each of the probiotic strains do?

Bacillus coagulans is an incredibly resilient SBO probiotic strain that is actually activated in the harsh, acidic environment of the stomach. It helps support gut function and reduces occasional gas, bloating and constipation, as well as helps maintain healthy gut microflora, healthy bowel transit time† and more. Bacillus subtilis is naturally found in the environment and plants. It’s a tough strain that helps support a healthy immune system and inflammation response.† Bacillus clausii, like the other strains, has the unique ability to withstand harsh environments that other probiotics can’t. It’s been used in Europe for over fifty years and helps to support digestive health. Saccharomyces boulardii is actually a yeast, but it acts as a probiotic. It helps support a healthy immune system, regular bowel function† and more. It’s also one of the few yeasts that survives best at human body temperature, giving it the capacity to thrive in the gut.

SBO Probiotics Ultimate also contains the highest colony-forming unit (CFU) count of all our probiotics products, at 50 billion CFUs* per serving. The SBO Probiotics Once Daily products each contain 25 billion CFUs*. Each product offers targeted support for specific areas in addition to digestive health: they focus on mental clarity†, vaginal health†, healthy immune system support†, men’s health and women’s health. The main difference is that this SBO Probiotics line features primarily soil-based, spore-forming organisms, and Ancient Probiotics features mostly non-spore forming cultures ( Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria strains) but with a soil-based probiotic ( Bacillus coagulans ) and a high-powered yeast that acts as a probiotic ( Saccharomyces boulardii ). The strains in SBO Probiotics typically populate differently in your gut than the live cultures in Ancient Probiotics, so they are great to take together for more strain diversity. Ancient Probiotics varieties feature anywhere between 25 billion and 100 billion CFU* per serving, and SBO Probiotics features 25 billion CFU* to 50 billion CFU* per serving. Are your products produced in a facility with allergens?

We now have a disclaimer that is on ALL of our products: "Produced on equipment that may also process peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soybean, wheat, sesame, shellfish, fish, egg." This is a voluntary disclaimer and our formulations have not changed. Our manufacturers are required to have Policies and Procedures in place when it comes to handling and processing allergens. These allergen programs are in place to prevent cross contamination after each run by proper cleaning procedures. Allergen swab testing is also done after running an allergen containing product. We test finished products for allergens prior to designating as “Free” of. We also follow cGMP (current good manufacturing practices) which guarantees allergen segregation.
