What makes this product "super?"

What do spirulina and chlorella do and why are these included in your Organic SuperGreens?

Spirulina and chlorella are two common micro-algae. These green superfoods provide chlorophyll, iron, protein, B vitamins, vitamins C, E and K, amino acids, enzymes, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and provitamin A as well as other nutrients. Spirulina and chlorella are known as “sea veggies” and can generally help support a less acidic, more alkaline state in the body. The modern diet tends to be overly acidic – due to processed grains, meats, sugars and unhealthy fats – which leads to the body being more acidic. Our bodies prefer a slightly alkaline state, which is why we’ve included alkalizing green superfoods like spirulina and chlorella.
