Question 9

What are the differences between Pink Himalayan Salt and Mediterranean Salt?

Accepted Answer

Pink Himalayan salt and Mediterranean salt differ in several key aspects. Pink Himalayan salt is mined from ancient salt deposits in the Punjab region of Pakistan, near the Himalayas, and is known for its distinctive pink color, which comes from its numerous trace minerals, including calcium, potassium, and magnesium. It has a mild, slightly sweet flavor and a coarse texture. Mediterranean salt is harvested from the Mediterranean Sea through the evaporation of seawater. It’s famous for essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium, with a different mineral composition than Himalayan salt (it’s typically higher in magnesium). It has a stronger, more pronounced salty taste and a finer texture. We love Mediterranean salt for its clean taste and natural harvesting process – it’s a less refined, natural source of key electrolytes that we need for hydration.

Question 10

Why is the sodium content so high?

Accepted Answer

There are several reasons why people might need more sodium than they realize: If you’re sweating a lot: athletes, especially those training in hot and humid conditions, can lose several grams of sodium during intense workouts or hot weather. If you don’t consume much sodium: eating a healthy whole-food diet is incredible for your health, but it can also significantly reduce sodium consumption. After all, most people get the bulk of their sodium from processed foods (which are notoriously high in sodium). If you eat a low-carb diet and/or practice fasting: ketogenic and fasting lifestyles can cause your kidneys to excrete sodium more efficiently. This is a good thing – unless you’re not consuming enough to begin with. While excessive sodium can be a concern, consuming 4-6 grams of sodium is considered an amount that supports overall well-being – especially for those with high physical activity or specific dietary patterns. As always, however, you should consult your healthcare professional prior to beginning any new dietary or lifestyle regimen, including sodium intake. Rapid Hydration† is expertly designed to swiftly boost nutrients and essential electrolytes in optimal ratios for rapid hydration†. All four essential electrolytes are in a balanced ratio for that goal.

Question 11

How can I incorporate Rapid Hydration† into my current routine?

Accepted Answer

This formula is beneficial no matter what time of day you decide to take it. The intention of the formula is to provide additional electrolytes into your day, particularly around times they might be extra useful to your body. A common way to take Rapid Hydration† is to drink a serving prior to a high-intensity workout or activity, when you know you’re going to be sweating heavily. Drink Rapid Hydration† if you’re planning on a tough hike, a hot yoga class, taking a long flight, or just craving extra hydration. When it comes to maintaining optimal electrolyte levels, preparing ahead of time is a more effective approach than trying to replenish them afterwards.

Question 12

What does it taste like?

Accepted Answer

Rapid Hydration† is available in two flavors: Strawberry Lemonade and Lemon Lime. Strawberry Lemonade is a lightly sweet, citrusy flavor that tastes like you could sip it pool-side with a lemon wedge. Lemon Lime is a slightly tart citrus flavor with a salty finish. Because our formula does include sodium (an essential mineral, necessary to maintain a balanced electrolyte profile), some people find the flavors to be salty. Everyone’s taste buds are different.

Question 13

Why does it taste salty?

Accepted Answer

Rapid Hydration† is formulated with 450mg of sodium per scoop, which is why the taste is saltier than you might be used to. We added this amount of sodium for two important reasons: to help replenish salt you lose through sweat, and to provide an optimal balance with the other electrolytes in this formula (calcium, potassium, and magnesium). While many of us have been taught to stay away from salt, sodium is an absolutely essential mineral that we shouldn’t be afraid to include in our diets. If you sweat a lot (maybe you live in a hot climate, or you’re regularly performing high intensity activity) and prioritize healthy, whole foods over processed foods – which contribute about 70% of Americans’ sodium intake – Rapid Hydration can help provide a good balance of sodium for your diet. Our tip: start with a quarter- or half-packet of your chosen flavor so your tastebuds can adjust to the saltier taste!

Question 14

How many servings can I have per day?

Accepted Answer

Every individual is different, and will have different electrolyte needs. Rapid Hydration† is intended to supplement the electrolytes you get through your diet. It’s currently recommended that the average adult gets 2300mg of sodium, 4700g of potassium, 420mg of magnesium and 1300g of calcium per day (primarily through whole foods). Do what is best for you – many people find 1-2 servings a day fit into their routines best. As always, you should consult your healthcare professional prior to beginning any new dietary or lifestyle regimen.

Question 15

Is it possible to over-hydrate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is possible to over-hydrate – it’s a condition known as hyponatremia or water intoxication. This occurs when you consume too much water too quickly, causing diluted sodium levels in your blood. Sodium is crucial for maintaining fluid balance in and around your cells, and when its levels drop too low, it can cause cells to swell. That’s why it’s so important to balance water intake with electrolyte replenishment, especially during intense physical activities or in hot weather.

Question 16

Are your products produced in a facility with allergens?

Accepted Answer

We now have a disclaimer that is on ALL of our products: "Produced on equipment that may also process peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soybean, wheat, sesame, shellfish, fish, egg." This is a voluntary disclaimer and our formulations have not changed. Our manufacturers are required to have Policies and Procedures in place when it comes to handling and processing allergens. These allergen programs are in place to prevent cross contamination after each run by proper cleaning procedures. Allergen swab testing is also done after running an allergen containing product.
