Our Ancient Origins Grass-Fed Collagen - Honey Vanilla is a celebration of those shared values, combining the skin, nail and joint support† of grass-fed collagen from beef, lamb and venison with New Zealand’s superfood sweetener Manuka Honey and a touch of vanilla. Together, they provide the beauty- and body-boosting benefits† for a healthier earth and a happy you.

Quality We’re Proud Of
Grass-Fed 365 Days a Year
You can’t do better than grass-fed. Meat from grass-fed animals typically contains more omega-3 fatty acids and more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than meat from grain-fed animals, as well as vitamins and antioxidants.
Sustainable and Responsible
An outdoor, 100% grass-fed lifestyle is better for the animals, who grow to be naturally resilient, and it’s better for the environment, too. New Zealand protects animals’ well-being by law, and minimally invasive, natural solutions are the default across the country.
Hydrolyzed for Absorption
Collagen is made up of amino acids that your body has to absorb in order to benefit from it. Our collagen is hydrolyzed, meaning it has already been partially broken down, so the critical amino acids are typically easier to absorb.
Food-Based Ingredients
Ancient Origins Grass-Fed Collagen is made with only the highest-quality, real-food ingredients. You won't see weird chemicals or artificial ingredients, sweeteners or flavors on the label. We proudly source our collagen from grass-fed New Zealand livestock raised humanely and without the use of GMOs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ancient Nutrition co-founder, chiropractor, clinical nutritionist and certified doctor of natural medicine is here to answer your questions!
Why New Zealand?
Unlike in the United States, where animals can qualify as “grass-fed” even if they spend months out of the year eating hay indoors, most livestock in New Zealand spend 365 day a year grazing in lush, green pastures. Additionally, New Zealand has an Animal Welfare Act that establishes a legal duty to care for animals, meeting their physical, health and behavior needs. Put simply, no country better shares our ideals than New Zealand.
What are collagen peptides?
Collagen peptides contain the same exact set of amino acids and nutrients as collagen but have undergone a process called hydrolysis to break them down into shorter chains of proteins.
Collagen peptides can be dissolved in both hot or cold water and, because of the hydrolysis process, are broken down and digested more easily in your stomach. They also have a high bioavailability and can be absorbed into the bloodstream more readily than regular collagen protein, giving you more bang for your buck in terms of nutrition.
These supplements go by a number of different names, including hydrolyzed collagen powder, collagen hydrolysate and collagen peptides.
Why should I be supplementing with collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Up to 30% of all the protein in your body is collagen protein. Up to 70% of skin, hair, nails and nearly 100% of connective tissues are made from collagen. It literally holds you together: from the hairs on your head, to every inch of your skin, to your joint comfort and mobility. It even impacts the overall health of your gut, including gut integrity.
There’s a reason that collagen supplementation, in addition to an overall healthy diet and lifestyle, is being dubbed as the new essential in the wellness and beauty community. Many people’s collagen is breaking down at an accelerated rate … and it’s not being replaced in the standard modern diet.
Are there other factors that contribute to collagen loss?
Age is not the only thing that can slow down production and diminish collagen in your body. If you’re worried about the breakdown of your own collagen, here are 8 dietary and lifestyle factors that are considered “collagen diminishers.”
- Poor sleep
- Too much sugar
- High cortisol levels from stress
- Sun overexposure
- Diet low in antioxidants
- Sitting all day and lack of activity
- Nutrient shortfalls of vitamin C and zinc
- Free radicals
You can fight back against collagen loss through a few combined approaches:
- Limit your exposure to damaging UV rays and other environmental toxins
- Consume collagen-boosting foods
- Support and promote the skin’s health by supplementing with collagen
- Sun overexposure
How can I tell if it works?
People typically start naturally producing less collagen after the age of 30. This product is for anyone who is looking to naturally support their body, especially if you are looking for healthy joint, skin, gut, hair and nail support.†
How long before I can start looking for benefits?
Results can vary. There is no specific time frame.
