Clinically Studied SBO Probiotics
Each serving includes 2 billion CFU* (*at time of manufacture) of an SBO probiotic strain called Bacillus coagulans. We’ve included it to provide added support for a healthy gut, digestive function, healthy bowel transit time and healthy gut flora.†
We use acacia fiber, which is a beneficial prebiotic fiber that helps the beneficial bacteria in your gut (known as probiotics) thrive. Powered by Fermentation
Fermentation is an ancient practice, traditionally used to preserve and enhance food and beverages. The fermentation process uses beneficial bacteria, yeasts and other microorganisms to boost the availability of nutrients, making them easier for your body to absorb. At Ancient Nutrition, we’ve implemented a groundbreaking concept of using a unique pair of microorganisms (bacteria and yeast) that results in easier-to-digest peptides that aren’t altered by heat or chemical processing. The result? A faster rate of absorption, bringing you quick and long-lasting results for some of the best collagen on the market.
Supplements are only as good as their sources. We make sure our vegetarian collagen powder ingredients are from non-GMO, cage-free and cruelty-free sources that are raised without hormones. That includes sustainably sourced eggshell membrane from chickens raised in the United States.
We’re the only leading collagen protein brand on the market currently with a fermented collagen ingredient backed by human clinical studies. “Clinically studied” means our ingredient is a) supported by proven research b) backed by peer-reviewed studies on healthy humans and c) tested for efficacy, safety and transparency. We use clinically studied ingredients wherever possible — so when we say Vegetarian Collagen Peptides delivers real results (like revitalizing your joints, hair and skin), we really mean it.

What’s the difference between vegetarian and regular collagen peptides?
While both formulas bring you benefits for your hair, skin, joints and gut†, Collagen Peptides and Vegetarian Collagen Peptides contain different ingredients.
Collagen Peptides combines fermented eggshell membrane collagen and bovine collagen, which comes from non-GMO, grass-fed and pasture-raised cows. The Orange flavor also includes clinically-studied probiotics and Vitamin C. Collagen Peptides has 20g of collagen per serving (two scoops).
Vegetarian Collagen Peptides is made with fermented eggshell membrane collagen, but it doesn’t contain bovine collagen — so it is considered vegetarian. It also contains prebiotic fiber (called acacia fiber) and probiotics for added digestive support. This vegetarian-friendly collagen supplement offers you 10g of the Vegetarian Collagen Peptide, Prebiotic and Probiotic Blend per serving (one scoop).
What is acacia fiber?
Acacia fiber is a beneficial soluble fiber with a clinically proven prebiotic effect. It comes from the sap of the acacia tree, which grows mainly in Africa and India. Many of the health benefits it’s traditionally known for are due to acacia being a prebiotic, which is a non-digestible fiber that acts as fuel for friendly bacteria. It can even increase the number of beneficial bacteria in your gut microbiome.
And while some fiber can be hard to digest, acacia fiber is known to be gentler on the gut due to its slow fermentation rate within the gut.
When will I start seeing results?
Everyone is different, and will have a different experience when using the product. What matters most is consistency. With consistent use, you can get results in as little as one day† (and even more results over the next several days and weeks). Here are some of the changes you may see:
- Reduced exercise-induced joint discomfort as early as Day 1†
- Reduced collagen degradation with noticeable results in as little as 3 days†
- Reduced knee stiffness, discomfort and improved function at 30 days†
- Improved appearance of crow’s feet after 4 weeks and skin tone after 8 weeks†
What are collagen peptides?
Collagen peptides contain the same exact set of amino acids and nutrients as collagen, but have undergone a process called hydrolysis to break them down into shorter chains of proteins called peptides. They are also referred to as hydrolyzed collagen or collagen hydrolysate.
Generally speaking, collagen peptides can be dissolved in both hot or cold water and, because of the hydrolysis process, are broken down and digested more easily in your stomach. They also typically have a high bioavailability, which means they can be absorbed into the bloodstream more readily than regular collagen protein.
Why should I supplement with collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Up to 30% of all the protein in your body is collagen protein. Up to 70% of skin, hair, nails and nearly 100% of connective tissues are made from collagen. It literally holds you together, from the hairs on your head, to every inch of your skin, to your joint comfort and mobility. It even supports the integrity of your gut lining; collagen promotes normal tissue growth and cellular health, all of which can impact the overall health of your gut.
Collagen production naturally declines as we age… and it’s not being consumed in the standard modern diet. Supplementing can help support your body’s natural production, so you can reap all the rewards of collagen.
Is this collagen vegan?
No, as there is no such thing as vegan collagen. Is collagen vegetarian-friendly? Yes, it can be, as our Vegetarian Collagen Peptides is made with our proprietary fermented eggshell membrane collagen, so it is made from eggs. That means this collagen is vegetarian-friendly, as it does not use chicken meat or bones, marine or bovine collagen ingredients.
What’s the difference between a collagen supplement and a “collagen booster”?
Vegetarian Collagen Peptides is a collagen supplement, not a collagen booster. That means it provides actual collagen from fermented eggshell membrane. There are many vegetarian “collagen boosters” on the market, which contain ingredients that are designed to naturally support your body’s collagen production – however, collagen boosters don’t provide actual collagen (or its benefits).
What types of collagen does Vegetarian Collagen Peptides contain?
Vegetarian Collagen Peptides contains our proprietary fermented eggshell membrane collagen, which includes 9 types of collagen: types I, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, X, XII and XXII.
