Question 1

Why is collagen important?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in the body — especially type I — and is found throughout the body. As we age, natural collagen production declines, which can contribute to wrinkles, joint stiffness and reduced mobility. Collagen contains a whopping 19 different amino acids. Amino acids are the “building blocks of proteins,” and collagen includes a mix of both nonessential (also called conditional) and essential types.

Accepted Answer

You can use this collagen in the morning, afternoon, evening or right before bed. There is no specific time to take collagen, but you’ll maximize benefits by taking it consistently. Find a time that works best for you to take it regularly.

Question 6

Why should I be supplementing with collagen?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Up to 30% of all the protein in your body is collagen protein. Up to 70% of skin, hair, nails and nearly 100% of connective tissues are made from collagen. It literally holds you together, from the hairs on your head, to every inch of your skin, to your joint comfort and mobility. Collagen production naturally declines as we age, and it’s not being consumed in the standard modern diet. Supplementing can help support your body’s normal collagen production, so you can reap all the rewards of collagen.

Question 7

Are there other factors that contribute to collagen loss?

Accepted Answer

The natural aging process is not the only thing that can slow down production and diminish collagen in your body. If you’re worried about the breakdown of your own collagen, here are 7 lifestyle factors that are considered “collagen diminishers.” Poor sleep Excess sugar consumption Sun overexposure Diet low in antioxidants Sitting all day and lack of activity Nutrient shortfalls of vitamin C and zinc Free radicals You can fight back against collagen loss through a few combined approaches: Limit your exposure to damaging UV rays and other environmental toxins Consume collagen-boosting foods Support and promote the skin’s health by supplementing with collagen

Question 8

Can you explain what “collagen loading” is?

Accepted Answer

Our bodies are approximately 30% collagen, and most of us don’t consume enough collagen in our everyday diets. “Collagen loading” is when you consume up to three servings of collagen per day, most often from collagen powder or capsule supplements. Collagen loading can help support our body’s production of collagen, which naturally declines as we age. It can help support healthy joints, skin, hair, nails and more. Of course, you should always consult your healthcare professional prior to beginning any new dietary or lifestyle regimen, including collagen loading.

Question 9

What are the benefits of taking collagen?

Accepted Answer

Collagen health benefits include support for your hair, skin, nails and joints. Taking a hydrolyzed collagen peptide protein powder helps make the collagen easier for the body to use, so you can better experience the benefits of collagen.

Question 10

Where do you source your collagen from?

Accepted Answer

Our collagen is sourced from non-GMO, pasture-raised and grass-fed, cage-free sources. Our hydrolyzed bovine hide collagen peptides are pasture-raised and grass-fed in South America. The hydrolyzed fish collagen peptides come from sustainably wild-caught haddock, cod and pollock, harvested from North American waters. The proprietary, clinically validated fermented eggshell membrane collagen is sourced from chicken eggshells from USDA-regulated egg breaking facilities within the United States. Our sustainably sourced chicken bone broth protein concentrate also comes from non-GMO, U.S.-farmed chickens.

Question 11

Are Multi Collagen Protein gel packs vegan/vegetarian?

Accepted Answer

Collagen is found only in animals, mostly in the flesh and connective tissue. There are no vegan collagen supplements (although there are vegan foods and products that can support your body’s production of collagen). As a result, Multi Collagen Protein comes from animal sources, so it is not vegan or vegetarian.

Question 12

What is the Multi Collagen Protein Gel Packs packaging made of?

Accepted Answer

The gel pouch is made from food-grade, multi-layer co-extruded (COEX) materials. It includes PET and foil layers, which are designed to provide durability as well as protection against oxygen and moisture. These layers are bonded together into a single structure, and the pouch is finished with a proprietary safety seal to help ensure product integrity. The inner-facing layer of our packaging, known as COEX, contains Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). This material is widely used in food packaging and is generally considered safe and nontoxic for daily use.
